Blackoak Hospital

Thunder boomed along with the pounding rain on the roof. Everything was dark in this hospital. Aaron Shaw was merely looking around. Doing a little curious investigating. He only lived a few miles from this place but never bothered it till now. Maybe his job as tech support was keeping him busy from this place.
The click of his shoes echoed through the decaying halls. Click, click, click, stop. Shaw stopped, thinking he heard something. Something like a groan of pain and agony. There was no one else here. He saw no cars. An animal maybe? No matter, he kept walking.
Beds and tables of the hospital that used to be were thrown everywhere in a panic. This place was a decrepit mess of a building. The place wasn’t too old. The research he did said it wasn’t that old. But it said the place was shut down because of doctors killing patients and patients killing themselves, each other and the doctors. But what happened to explain the mess here wasn’t in there.
After some time Shaw kept looking around, trying to not touch anything, but soon he found a locked door. The door had blood on the window. Old blood. His common sense yelled at him to go home. But he wanted to know what was in the room.
Shaw went to the front office and found a key in one of the drawers then made his way back to the locked door. Sliding the key into the door lock it made a soft clicking sound. Click. With that he took the key out and pocketed it. Then slowly the door opened when he pushed it. A loud screech was heard throughout the hospital. Then when it stopped everything was silent. Shaw didn’t open the door very much just enough to see into it. He peeked in, one blue eye wandering around what he could see. He began to near the door. He stared in there for a while. Nothing much to see in there. Just a broken bed and a bed stand.
Without warning a white blur appeared and slammed the door closed. He was so taken by surprise he fell backwards on to his tail bone. That was a woman. From what little his memory had of it, she was white as ivory and had no eyes. This couldn’t be real. No way.
When he finally rose from his fall he tried to open the door again. Locked. As it had been before.

  1. Perfect image! That last bit about the pale woman with no eyes you leave us with is so creepy...I like the direction you took this story and I love that my rusty crusty flea market find lock got your wheels turning. Thanks for sharing this with us.

  3. I love the onomatopoeia you use - with Aaron Shaw's foot steps and the click of the lock - it really paints a picture and it gave me goosebumps! Creepy : )
