1. When I listen to music I feel many different things. From pumped to sad to calm. Depending on the song. It can also change my mood. Sometimes it makes me happy or sad. When I listen to Rebellion by Linkin Park I get really pumped and ready for action while if I listen to The Truth by Audiomachine I get sad and not ready to move. And some songs I can’t place a certain emotion on. Like Seven Devils by Florence + The Machine I feel weird. Not happy or sad just in between.
2. My favorite song is Crow and the Butterfly by Shinedown. My mom sing it to me. I miss her a lot but I have memories singing that to me so it’s still my favorite song. As it’s something I can remember while listening to this song. It gives me a bittersweet feeling. I have these memories but I can never make new ones with her.
3. My taste in music has changed a LOT. But I’ve never really liked one type of music. My music taste depends on mood and situation. If I am working on school work I listen to classical. If I am walking or on a car ride I choose a song based on mood. I always listen to rock when cleaning for some reason.
4. I normally seem to gravitate to Rock music. My mom always listened to it but because I moved from home to home while in foster care they all listened to different music types. So I learned to enjoy most music types. But rap seems to be the music I dislike the most. It takes a certain voice to get me to listen. Without that voice I won’t listen to it.
5. Most of my friends listen to the same type of music as me. But it varies again. Some of my friends listen to Japanese pop while others listen to rock and some to Other types of music.
12. Music has the ability to change the mood of a scene VERY quickly in a show/movie. It also helps bring a feel of horror in horror films and a feeling of happy in other movies. But most of the time sad music seems to be noticed by me when I am watching a movie. And action music. The music you would hear when it’s the final battle.
I totally get what you mean when you say that you have different songs for different moods - some music just sounds better when you're doing you homework. (And I totally have a classical music Pandora station for exactly that!)
