Red Puddles

The Streets were covered in rain water. Small puddles everywhere with only one unbroken light on the cobblestone road. People were scattered here and there. But only a few. Upon seeing me, a girl screamed "Monster"
Then a black blur passed me and the next thing I know, I'm running. Away from the black monster that was hunting me and the others. I managed to run ahead of him. Pushing a light pole on him. It landed right on his head. He died with a pitful whimper.
The small pudde shined in the full moon's light. I opened my mouth to say it's ok, the monster is dead now. A little boy screamed at the sight of my mouth opening. Just then I close it and look down at the puddle. What I saw wasn't my hair or eyes. But the red  reflection of a monster. I looked up from the puddle of blood and a woman screamed. She called the men over. They ran at me, throwing things and trying to stab me. I ran. What am I? Why did this happen to me?
I ducked into an ally way. There was no escape if they found me. I stared down at my claws, shaking. What am I? soft footsteps were heard coming closer. I look up expecting the men. But it was a young man. No weapons on him. He wore a victorian outfit like almost every one wore around this time. He grabbed my shoulders. No fear of me at all.
"Wake up. You have to wake up. Wake up!" He calmly yet urgently said.
The next thing I know is I close my eyes then wake up.

  1. This story also has great potential if you decide to add to it. The title alone is intriguing...
